Jenna

Hi everyone! My name is Jenna and I'm this month's Mentor of the Month. I'm really excited to be here at SmartGirl, and I can't wait to hear from you. I'm interested in writing and one day my dream is to be a published author, but in the meantime, I enjoy lots of other things like gymnastics, reading and hanging out with my friends. I'm here to talk with you about anything you want, so feel free write to me at: sgmentor@hotmail.com. You can write for advice, for school help or just to say hi!

Then this month's survey - Do You Believe in Ghosts - is for you (http://www.smartgirl.org/surveys/8156177.html), plus for those of us here in the US, it's just in time for Halloween. Or get silly with How Do You Feel About Your Feet? - a fun survey about feet and footwear (http://www.smartgirl.org/surveys/8154356.html).

SmartGirl Reviews: What's the buzz?
This was a movie sort of month at SmartGirl. SmartGirl Editor Tiffany watched Camp Rock, a Disney Channel DVD (http://www.smartgirl.org/reviews/editor1.html). SmartGirl Editor Becca decided to check out The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (http://www.smartgirl.org/reviews/editor3.html), a movie based on the popular books. So if you're feeling in the mood for a movie, check those out! Or if a book is more your style this month, SmartGirl Editor Ruthie read Little Vampire by Joann Sfar and shares what she thought (http://www.smartgirl.org/reviews/editor2.html). While you've got reviews on the brain, take a look at our Featured Reviews page. Stop by to get some hints on what's good and what's not-so-good from your fellow SmartGirls and to see if your review was selected (http://www.smartgirl.org/reviews/featured.html). If you'd like to be considered for next month's Featured Reviews, or even if you just have some opinions to share, submit your own reviews (http://www.smartgirl.org/reviews/reviews.html).

Super SmartGirl: The Envelope, Please...
And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for, I am pleased to announce our Super SmartGirl of the Month: lyiah, age 12! She wrote a beautiful poem about her mom, reminding us to appreciate and respect all the wonderful things about our own mothers. Congratulations, lyiah, you're our Super SmartGirl of the Month! (http://www.smartgirl.org/reviews/super.html)

Alright, SmartGirls! We've got a lot going on here in October. Enjoy! I hope to hear from you soon!
