My hypothesis
I think that only a small number of teenagers read because they enjoy it or like it. Others think it is too uncool and nerdy and would rather do other things. Most only read books for school.

The predictor

Interpretation

This compares people's answers to how much time they spend on reading and why they don't read.

Statistical Measures

χ2=262.93 p < 0.001

Evaluation
What I have found is very different to my original thoughts. I thought that people didn't read because it was uncool and they cared what people thought. But now I have found that people do read quite a lot, although it varies compared to the person. But a lot of people don't read a lot because they are busy and just don't have enough time. Also people that only read when they are supposed do, don;t read because books are too long and boring.

Summary of findings
I found that teenagers don't read or only read sometimes because they don't have the time. Alos people that read only when they are supposed do don't read because books are too long and boring. Beyond my study this means that people actually just don't have the time to read anymore, which is dissapointing. Also that people that don't read, don't do it because it is boring and they don't ahve book they like. I think this can tell us that teenagers will read more if they are given the time to and that we need more interesting books.

Conclusion
To test the same hypothesis I would change the sort of questions in the test. My hypotheseis is a theory I have had for a while, so I would havbe changed the survey to basis around that, such as having questions like, are you concerned what other people think of your reading? and do you think it is uncool to read? Once again I think the survey is a bit too varied and need to be channelled to a particular subject more. To get a better opinion of the average teenager, I would run the survey through schools and not just through a website where all the people are intellects, so i could get a better idea of what everyone thought.
