True Jackson VP: Season 1 Volume 1

True Jackson VP

This series has an awesome main character who is a role model for all girls, especially those wanting to be in the executive workplace!  True Jackson (Keke Palmer) is a fifteen year old girl. While selling sandwiches inside a fashion agency for a summer job, the owner of Mad Style!, a huge fashion label, walks by and compliments True on her clothing. The owner and president, Mr. Madigan, is played by Greg Proops, who is just the right mix of goofy and eccentric to pull it off.

True explains that her clothes are actually his design, but with a few of her personal touches. She loves to rework clothes she buys at the store to make them even better. The next thing she knows, she is in charge of the Youth Department as Vice President, making her the youngest executive in the history of the company!

With cool perks such as her own office, which she gets to design herself, and a remote-controlled wall that opens to reveal a fridge and TV, True is living her dream. But then she meets her co-workers.

Greg Proops as the president of the fashion company Mad Style!True is a loveable character. She is sweet and determined, firing her assistant so her best friend can fill the spot. At first, True is bullied by her coworkers because she’s so young. True feels intimidated, but then she realizes that her position is just like high school, with cliques and cattiness and all.  When True gains confidence in herself and also the courage to voice her opinions, she changes the company for the better. Her creative ideas with colors and patterns and unique touches bring life to boring designs.

One really cool part of the show is the set. Most shows take place in schools or houses. Because True works at a fashion company, we get to see runway shows, models, and tons of clothes and fashion. This ‘summer job’ shows us what it might be like in the fashion industry. Along the way, True has a few love interests and many hilarious moments which are really fun to watch!

True Jackson VP on the runway in her own design.True Jackson shows that you can be a real friend and a fun-loving teenager while also being part of a huge corporation.  She remains herself and never gets caught up in the rush or stress of the fashion world.  Because of this, it is easy to see why she is named ‘True’.  Through it all, she remains ‘true’ to herself and to her friends. She is a great reminder that we can do anything we put our minds to!

For me, True Jackson isn't just like your usual children/teen show. It shows a girl trying to make it in the fashion business. It gives out the message to never give up. I think it will inspire a lot of other people to chase their dreams!

I think it is pretty funny, but sometimes it gets a little boring. It is not my favorite show, but I still like it.

I think that True Jackson VP can be and is a very inspiring show to those in key with fashion, like me. I also enjoy the fragments of funny comments that appear a lot throughout the show. I think that this show has a lot to come that may pull in a new crowd.
