The needles of an evergreenIf you could do anything in the world, what would it be? How long have you known about it? Why do you want to do it? Have you ever talked to your parents or a school counselor about it? Do you think your dream job is something you could realistically do, or do you have a dream job AND a realistic job? If so, why isn't your dream job realistic? What advice would you give to someone who had a dream job, but didn't think they could really do it?

I Wanna Be...

by Sarah, age 14

If I could do ANY job in the world, I would want to be a writer. I've known about it ever since I can remember. I want to write because I love to read and pretend, so why not put my ideas on paper, then maybe in a book? I've talked to anyone who would listen to me about what I want to be. Yeah, it's real. I'm pretty sure I could do it. My advice is to NEVER give up.

Untitled

by LovelyRita, age 12

If I could be anything I wanted in the world, do anything I wanted to ever do, see everything I've ever wanted to see, I wouldn't know where to end. But I know how to start. I do have a dream job. I want to be published. I guess that's not a "job" exactly, but you know what I mean. I want to be an author and change the world with my writing. And if I want to do anything, I want to change the world. I talk to my parents about this, though I never read my writing to them. It makes me feel uncomfortable. This is a job that is possible to me, of course, because I can do anything I set my mind to.

If I could be anything in the world, I'd be a teacher. I love the thought of teaching kids how to read and write, as well as to impart important life lessons to them. Nothing would be quite as fulfilling as knowing the fact that with some of the knowledge I know, I am able to (possibly) change a person's life. :)

My Dream Job

by Kaytrina, age 16

My dream is to become the President of the United States. I have known that I wanted to be President since I first heard about the job when I was around 6 years old! I want to do this job because I have goals for this country and for this world, goals of creating peace and justice for all people. I have talked to my parents quite a bit about it. I believe that it is definitely something I could accomplish in my lifetime and handle well. But, in the end, it depends on how much money I have to campaign and what the voters think of me. If someone told me that they had a dream job but doubted they could do it, I would say, "You can do anything if you believe in yourself and if your will to do something is strong enough. Go for it!"

Dreams Can Become A Reality

by Shanice, age 15

Ever since I was eight years old, I dreamt of becoming an author. I wrote comics, made my own magazine (albeit a silly one), wrote songs and poems, but never a story. Why? Well, I just felt like I couldn't do it. When I was twelve, I decided I wanted to be a journalist. I still never wrote anything. I attempted a book. It was rather good, if I do say so myself. But I couldn't find an ending and so I deleted it. After feeling incredibly hopeless, I decided two years later that I WOULD write and finish a book. And so I did. I sent it for publishing--that didn't work out. But it didn't matter. I accomplished my goal: I wrote and finished my own book. I can think of nothing that felt greater then actually doing what I've always wanted to do. So my message is that no dream is too small or too big. As long as you just believe, you can do anything. And as for me now? I'm currently fifteen. I've written 3 stories and quite a few articles. And no matter what happens, I know that my dream will become a reality!

Dreams Really Do Come True If You make Them real

I Want To Be...

by Cloe, age 13

I've wanted to be either a psychologist or an author. I've won loads of awards at my high-school for my writing, but I also like helping my friends with their problems. If I were a psychologist, I would want to talk to people who have done something bad or are mentally unstable, like who have committed a murder or who saw someone die or who got involved in a crash. Writing makes me feel like I'm in a different world, like I am the person I'm writing about. I could be anything and everything. Those jobs would make me feel really happy if I could be them when I'm older.

My Dream Job + Real One

by Keisha, age 10

I would love be a Power Ranger. The green one. Yet if I were to have a real job, it would be a critic. I guess lawyer or judge, too, yet critics sound fun. You get to do stuff and say what you want and get paid.
