Chapter 1: Milla Kellway |
I'm Milla Kellway, and this is my story.
Think of me as an average 12-year-old girl whose hobbies are karate, cheerleading, and solving riddles. Average, chestnut-brown hair and big blue eyes. But then again, I'm not average because I have a super voice. I don't mean to boast. I loaded videos on YouTube and then my Hollywood star life began, complete with concerts and signing autographs.
Wow! The super feeling of being on stage, the crowd roaring while I sang my hit song, It's Raining Love. The paparazzi were shooting me like crazy, and everything was perfect. I loved it. At first.
My concert was great, but I thought that if this was what being a celeb was like, then I didn't want to be one. I mean, the ton of interviews after the concert, the even more tons of people who wanted an autograph...
I ran away. You may think I'm crazy, but I did.
I ran out of the closet room, past the paparazzi and the V.I.P. guests. I emerged onto L.A. Street, still not stopping the insane running. After a few minutes, I fell down, totally unconscious.
*
I woke several hours later, but this time I wasn't on the streets. I was surrounded by thick mist. I looked around and saw absolutely nothing apart from a small chalkboard with some writing on it. I picked it up and read it. I couldn't help but giggle because this was the worst riddle I ever read:
I am full of people but not quite so
For I have no second E or O.
In this four-lettered place,
My first and last are the same.
This is where you will go:
Hm. Full of people meant the word "PEOPLE." No second E or O: PEPL. First and last letter are the same? Swap the P and L, so that's PELP. I wrote "PELP" on the board. As soon as I wrote this down, something absurd happened: a tornado formed and approached me rapidly. I just had time to read the new writing on the chalkboard:
This is a choice you made
And didn't hesitate
You must flee to Pelp
This, unfortunately, was all I could read before the tornado caught me like a whirlwind and sucked me in. There were more "instructions" on it, but I didn't have time to read them now. If only I had, because they would have helped a lot in my extraordinary adventures, of which I had quite a lot, oh yes...
